Who will be required to have a meal plan?

The plan for implementing Anytime Dining on the campus will be in four phases. Beginning in the fall of 2016, all new entering freshmen (30 earned credit hours or less) who live on campus, except for freshmen living in the Buccaneer Ridge Apartments, will be automatically enrolled for a 7 Day Silver Meal Plan with the anticipated cost at $1675 per semester. In the fall of 2017, a meal plan will be required for all freshmen and sophomores living on campus, except for those living in the Buccaneer Ridge Apartments. In the fall of 2018, a meal plan will be required for all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors living on campus, except for those living in the Buccaneer Ridge Apartments. In the fall of 2019, a meal plan will be required for all freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors living on campus, except for those living in the Buccaneer Ridge Apartments.

Who can have a meal plan?

We have meal plans available to all students on and off campus. 

How do I sign-up for a meal plan?

All students will receive information regarding Meal Plans via their ETSU email. Information will be posted on the housing website at www.etsu.edu/housing . All students may sign up for meal plans at https://etsu-residence.symplicity.com.

How do I pay for my meal plan?

Students will have the fee for their meal plan placed on their student account (like tuition and fees). On-campus students will have their fee combined with their housing fees.

What is a Meal considered?

A “Meal” is a single swipe to enter the Marketplace Dining Commons or the Tree House for breakfast, lunch, and dinner or at selected other times.

What are guest meals?

Guest meals function exactly like a regular meal at the student’s discretion. In most instances, guest meals are used to treat visiting friends and family to a meal in the Marketplace Dining Commons.

How do I use my meal plan?

All of your meal plan information is placed on your student ID card and must be presented at each dining location where your meal plan or dining dollars are used. There is no worry of carrying cash around campus!

Can I change my meal plan?

You may change your meal plan within the designated period each semester.

Can I use a meal at any dining location?

Each meal swipe must be used in the Marketplace Dining Commons or at the Tree House.

How do I know how many dining dollars I have?

You may obtain the information at any cash register in our dining locations or you may call us at (423) 439-4389.

Do dining dollars roll over to the next semester or next year?

Unused dining dollars at the end of fall semester rolls forward to the spring semester; however, unused dining dollars at the end of the spring semester are forfeited.

When can I use my Anytime Dining plan?

7 days a week from 7:00 a.m.-12:00 a.m. at the Marketplace Dining Commons, or during operating hours at the Tree House during the academic year with some restrictions at selected holidays and breaks.

What locations can I use my Anytime Dining plan?

Anytime Dining Plans may be used in the Marketplace Dining Commons in the D. P. Culp University Center or the Tree House. Dining dollars may be used at on-campus retail dining locations.

What if I have special dietary needs or food allergies?

Students with special dietary needs or food allergies are encouraged to meet directly with Dining Services staff to discuss and prepare a plan to meet your needs.

What if I run out of dining dollars?

Students will have the ability to buy additional dining dollars throughout the semester by visiting our website at etsu.sodexomyway.com and clicking on the Shop Now tab.

Will dining services be available during breaks and holidays?

Yes, there will be service available, but with limited options and hours. Please visit our website to view special hours throughout the year.

How do I arrange a meal, if I am sick?

A student who is ill may arrange to have a meal prepared for them and picked up by a roommate or friend from dining services. Just contact us at (423) 439-4389.
