Meal Plans

At ETSU, there are two types of meal plans. There are Anytime Dining Meal Plans which allow unlimited meal swipes in the Market Place and access to the Treehouse Takeout once per meal period. There are also Block Plans. These plans come with a set number of meal swipes and are a great option for students who may not plan to eat on campus every day. All Block Plans and Commuter Anytime Dining Plans are sales taxable. 

Students living on campus (except for those living in Buc Ridge) who have less than 60 credit hours are required to enroll in the 7 Day Silver Meal Plan. Those students do have the option of upgrading to the Gold or Platinum as well. 

Further information on meal plan requirements is available on the housing website at www.etsu.edu/housing. All students may sign up for a meal plan by logging in with Goldlink credentials here: etsu-residence.symplicity.com. If you log in and do not see the Meal Plan Application, please call the Office of Housing and Residence Life at 423-439-4446 to request that the application be added to your account. 


The following visuals offer additional information about meal plans, and the list below breaks down the cost of each plan:

Traditional Plans

  • Anytime 7 Day Platinum Meal Plan *Best Value* 
    This plan includes unlimited access to the Market Place seven days a week and the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. This meal plan includes ten (10) guest meal passes, and $400 dining dollars which can be used in retail dining locations. Students will have the ability to buy additional dining dollars throughout the semester, if they wish to do so.
    • Cost: $2025/semester
  • Anytime 7 Day Gold Meal Plan 
    This plan includes unlimited access to the Market Place seven days a week and the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. This meal plan includes eight (8) guest meal passes, and $200 dining dollars which can be used in retail dining locations. Students will have the ability to buy additional dining dollars throughout the semester, if they wish to do so.
    • Cost: $1820/semester
  • Anytime 7 Day Silver Meal Plan 
    This plan includes unlimited access to the Market Place seven days a week and the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. This meal plan include four (4) guest meal passes, and $100 dining dollars which can be used in retail dining locations. Students will have the ability to buy additional dining dollars throughout the semester, if they wish to do so. 
    •  Cost: $1718/semester 
  • Anytime 5 Day Meal Plan 
    This plan is for residents living in Buc Ridge Apartments or commuter students. This includes unlimited access to the Market Place five days a week and the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. This meal plan includes four (4) guest meal passes, and $100 dining dollars which can be used in retail dining locations. Students will have the ability to buy additional dining dollars throughout the semester, if they wish to do so.
    • Cost: $1487/semester

Block Plans

Block 80 Plan + 200 Flex Dollars 
This plan includes 80 meals/semester to use at the Market Place or the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. This plan also includes 200 Flex Dollars to use at any on-campus retail location. Any Unused Flex Dollars will rollover from semester to semester but will expire at the end of the year.
  • Cost: $800/semester
Block 50 Plan + 200 Flex Dollars 
This plan includes 50 meals/semester to use at the Market Place or the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. This plan also includes 200 Flex Dollars to use at any on-campus retail location. Any Unused Flex Dollars will rollover from fall semester to spring semester but will expire at the end of the sping semester.
  • Cost: $600/semester
Block 25 Plan + 200 Flex Dollars 
This plan includes 25 meals/semester to use at the Market Place or the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. This plan also includes 200 Flex Dollars to use at any on-campus retail location. Any Unused Flex Dollars will rollover from fall semester to spring semester but will expire at the end of the spring semester.
  • Cost: $400/semester

Block 20 Plan + 80 Flex Dollars
This plan includes 20 meals/semester to use at the Market Place or the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. This plan also includes 80 Flex Dollars to use at any on-campus retail location. Any Unused Flex Dollars will rollover from fall semester to spring semester but will expire at the end of the spring semester.

Faculty and Staff Meal Plan

  • Block 60 Plan  
    This plan includes 60 meals to use at the Market Place or the Treehouse Take Out during all operating hours. Meals do rollover for all Faculty and Staff.

Treehouse Takeout Policy

Anytime Dining Meal Plans may be used at the Treehouse Takeout, but swipes are not unlimited. If a meal plan is used at the Treehouse, that meal plan may not be used at the Marketplace or Treehouse until the next meal period begins. If a meal plan is used at the Marketplace, that meal plan may not be used at the Treehouse until 2 hours has passed. This policy is to insure that Anytime Meal Plans are being used for only one student. 


Dining Dollars vs. Flex Dollars vs. ID BUC$ - What's the difference???

They all work the same way, but it is important to know which you have on your account. ID BUC$ are sold by and controlled by the University. They can be used both on campus at all dining locations and at certain off campus locations contracted with the school. For more information on ID BUC$, please visit etsu.edu/students/idservices

Dining Dollars are attached to the Anytime Dining Plans and can be used at all on campus dining locations. They can also be added to your student account at any time throughout the year. 

Flex Dollars are attached to Block Plans. They can be used at any on campus dining location as well, but once they are gone, no more can be added. Students with Block Plans can, however, purchase Dining Dollars if they run out of Flex Dollars. Both Dining Dollars and ID BUC$ can be added to your account by visiting ID Services on the 2nd floor of the D.P. Culp Center.
